Rossendale Ramblers

Rossendale Ramblers is one of around 500 groups in the Ramblers walking charity. Our group has around 170 members, and is regarded as one of the friendliest groups in the area. We are a family friendly group, so children under 18 can join a walk for free with their parent, grandparent, or guardian. Risk Assessments are completed before all walks.

We have walks for most levels of ability – see below – so please give us a try. You are welcome to come on up to 3 of our walks before you need to become a member of The Ramblers, which is only £3.42 per month for an individual, or £4.58 for joint membership.

We have 2 hour local pub walks on 1st & 3rd Thursday evenings in the summer months, and on 1st & 3rd Saturday mornings in the rest of the year. These walks are very sociable, and are ideal for new walkers and working people.  Every Wednesday and one Sunday in the month we walk around 9-11 miles, and also run 6-ish mile walks on three Sundays of most months. On some Fridays we organise 9-12 mile linear walks involving local transport one way, and once a year we organise a major challenge walk such as the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

Many of our walks exploit the beauty of the local scenery but often we go further afield to the Yorkshire Dales, the Peak District, or the Lakes.  Please browse our site, especially our Walks Schedule and Safeguarding Policy.
