We are a really friendly group of people here at Whitworth Scout Group and we try to ensure that we cover a wide range of activities that both our Young Members and also our Adult Volunteers will enjoy taking part in.
Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society and this is what we aim to achieve here within our small group in Whitworth when we plan activities, games and badge work for our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
Our leaders and adult helpers have regular DBS checks and our leaders have also been through a rigorous training program before becoming fully warranted. This training is ongoing throughout their time as leaders with first aid, safeguarding and other essential skills constantly being kept up to date.
Our focus is on learning through fun and we try to keep an element of both of these in all that we do. We hope that you will join us.
From archery and acting to street sports and zorbing, being a Scout gives you the chance to get stuck into loads of activities you wouldn’t normally get to do.
Chief Scout Bear Grylls says life is about grabbing opportunities! We agree! Above everything else, Scouting is all about enjoying yourself, whatever you’re doing – and there’ll always be plenty to do! Scouting in Rossendale is part of East Lancashire County Scout Council, which provides the activities and adventure provided by the Scout Association. The Association offers everyday adventure and activity to almost 400,000 young people across the UK, and is the largest co-educational youth organisation in the world.
