Emmaus Burnley opened in 2011, becoming the UK’s 20th Emmaus community.
We offer 24 people who have experienced homelessness, accommodation and meaningful work in one of our social enterprises.
Emmaus Burnley covers the whole of Pennine Lancashire including Burnley, Rossendale, Hyndburn, Pendle, Blackburn with Darwen and Ribble Valley.
Emmaus UK is a homelessness charity providing more than just a bed for the night to people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion.
We know that overcoming homelessness often means more than a roof over your head. That’s why Emmaus supports people to work their way out of homelessness, providing meaningful work in our social enterprise as well as a stable home for as long as someone needs it. Living in a stable environment with the opportunity to work helps our companions, as residents are known, to regain lost self-esteem and the confidence to get back on their feet.
