East Lancashire Deaf Society

Return to list of services

The vision of East Lancashire Deaf Society (ELDS) is for full social inclusion of Deaf people. Its concern is for the Deaf people’s right to full participation, to the same opportunities in education, employment, access and involvements as anyone else.

There are two elements in the practice of social inclusion, one is the Deaf person’s ability to be independent and to participate and the other is a receptive society that accepts Deaf people. ELDS strives to be modern and innovative in its approach to providing services to Deaf people, families of Deaf children, learners, employers and public/private service providers.

We have the following – Family Support, Young People, Community Service, Black Minority Ethnic, Training, Interpreting and Social Enterprises.
