BPRCVS Communicars is a fantastic volunteer driver community transport scheme run by BPRCVS that operates throughout East Lancashire.
Communicars operates Monday to Friday between 9am – 5pm. To book journeys call the dedicated Communicars dispatch line on 01282 412096. Phone lines are open for bookings between 9am – 2pm.
Communicars is commonly used for medical appointments, trips into town, visiting family and friends, and going shopping.
Communicars gives many people who are unable to get out and about using public transport a means to carry on their lives. The service is designed for the elderly, disabled or infirm who have difficulty accessing public transport.
At BPRCVS we have a team of volunteer drivers that provide the Communicars service using their own cars. Communicars is available to people living in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale. Passengers can travel within a 20 mile radius of their home address.
Unlike other community transport schemes Communicars is a door-to-door service that can transport up to 3 passengers at any given time. The safety of passengers is paramount to BPRCVS. All relevant insurance and MOT documents of the driver and their car are thoroughly checked before we hire them as a volunteer driver. All drivers are also subject to a DBS check (formerly known as a CRB check) to further ensure the safety of passengers.
BPRCVS Communicars is always on the lookout for new volunteer drivers – all expenses paid. If this excellent opportunity interests you give Communicars a call or email and a member of the Communicars team will explain how the scheme works in detail.
