Bfriend is a charity aiming to reduce social isolation in people aged over 65. Voluteer befrienders commit to spend an hour a week with someone who may benefit from more company. Prior to the pandemic this would involve popping over for a cuppa and a chat each week but, over the last year volunteers this has consisted of doorstep visits and telephone/facetime calls. bfriend aims to bring the community together and focuses on connection. A phone call once a week, dropping off essentials at the door or a 30 minute walk in the park can have a transformational impact on wellbeing.
